THE YOGA SOLUTION

taraLed by inspirational teacher and yoga rebel Tara Stiles (“the coolest yoga instructor ever” Vanity Fair) The Yoga Solution is a weekly series on Fridays on You Tube that offers a fun and simple way to practice yoga. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been doing the downward dog for years, or never ever touched your toes before, her easy to follow and approachable manner will guide you on your daily exercise. Don’t let the fact that Tara is beautiful, skinny and supple put you off – she was a model before she turned yoga instructor and formed Strala Yoga in NYNY. Personally I like to have something to aim for!

I have a very stiff shoulder and so I watched her Quick Fix For Shoulder Pain – it was very easy to follow. Personally, I think it would be slightly more beneficial for those of you who have done yoga before to subscribe for her weekly videos – simply because you can listen, rather than watch, as you do the poses. Otherwise you might end up cricking your neck trying to do both!  Saying that she does start from the basics… check out her Building Balance video.

Most importantly, we all know we should do some exercise every day and, if you can’t get to a class for any reason, the Yoga Solution looks like a good way to practice yoga at home.yoga-sequence

About Grace

Grace
Marriage to a younger man has been the making of me – it helps that he is my soul mate (a hackneyed phrase but no other words will do) and that we have a (99.9%) wonderful 19 year old son. Two gentle dogs – my beloved Jack Russell and my husband’s occasionally whiffy black Labrador - complete our little family. We live in rural West Sussex and, a decade after leaving London, I now find it hard to believe that I ever adored city life. I love the tranquillity of the countryside, the fresh air, the extra space, the fact that people stop to chat. I spend my time making lists, pretending to do Pilates, being glued to an ironing or chopping board in my kitchen – and trying to find something more interesting to do than all of those things.
