Age Perfect

loreal picI am not in the first flush of youth (LOL) and so try quite a lot of lotions and potions to soften my ever burgeoning wrinkles. That, and I never peer closely into a magnified mirror.

Some creams and serums make me feel better because they smell so lovely and some because they freshen up my skin (and, as I like to erroneously believe, tighten it up so my jowly bits almost disappear). This particular cream, however, is my current favourite because it is so rich and – well, creamy – and I feel it is really nourishing my poor old dehydrated skin. Also it’s made by L’Oreal, who in 2011 spent £565 million on research and development, so hopefully it has some effective science behind it and this will be the one that actually works!

  1. Have succumbed to Creme de la Mer – alas, risking financial ruin there is NO going back. I look ten years younger!

Grace
Marriage to a younger man has been the making of me – it helps that he is my soul mate (a hackneyed phrase but no other words will do) and that we have a (99.9%) wonderful 19 year old son. Two gentle dogs – my beloved Jack Russell and my husband’s occasionally whiffy black Labrador - complete our little family. We live in rural West Sussex and, a decade after leaving London, I now find it hard to believe that I ever adored city life. I love the tranquillity of the countryside, the fresh air, the extra space, the fact that people stop to chat. I spend my time making lists, pretending to do Pilates, being glued to an ironing or chopping board in my kitchen – and trying to find something more interesting to do than all of those things.
