Hip and Healthy

Chaya-Yoga-Image-Retreat-457x390According to weather forecasters the 1st March is the first day of Spring, in their minds, and whilst it may not be looking or feeling much like Spring it is a good time to try and get healthy. I came across this website, Hip and Healthy, through one of our readers who is also my Nordic Walking trainer and is a bit of a fitness and health guru but like me loves to cook and bake for her large family so we are always chatting about ways of avoiding putting on the pounds and anything she recommends is worth looking at.

This site is refreshing and enticing to look at – enticing in that it draws you in and makes you want to click on one of the boxes to find out tips on how to try and get your eating and exercise regime back on track after a winter of hibernation, comfort eating and layers of figure hiding cloths! I was drawn to “If you only do one thing” box as, let’s be honest, with all of our busy lifestyles there is only so much we can take on so if you achieve one good, healthy thing then it is one more than last week!

I also liked the recipe for ‘dairy free Guacamole’ – probably something that we can all make but sometimes it is just nice to be reminded of a healthy snack and best of all there is a recipe for the Ultimate Healthy Raw Brownie (can a Brownie really be healthy?)………so get clicking!

About Annabel

Annabel
Mother of four plus two dogs, some people think I am very organised but I think I chase my tail most of the time. Children are semi grown up which means their problems are bigger and I don't get to solve them over a bubble bath. The Other Half (OH) is very tolerant, has a good sense of humour and goes along with most of my plans. We have lived in Henley for 10 years, previously from London, and love the nearness of the city whilst still enjoying the beauty of the surrounding area. Love to cook if someone else would do the shopping and even the choosing of the menu; love to read (more recently on a Kindle) but still struggle to find the time and more often than not am asleep after 5 minutes. Love to walk with the dogs and any members of my family who are out of bed, though 3 prolapsed discs are trying to stop me (never been good at being told 'No') and so doing lots of Pilates to compensate! I blog to make myself laugh at life's little hiccoughs. My motto is "try and turn a lemon into a melon"!!
