BOSOMS - my favourite mammaries are those that purport to belong to Vera Sackcloth-Vest… writer, gardener and transvestite, played by the wonderfully naughty Miriam Margolyes and supported by a stellar cast that includes Alison Steadman, Morwenna Banks and John Sessions. BOOBS - well, by that I mean one boob really and it concerns my son. He phoned last night at 10pm to tell me he had “Bad news”. As I was tucked up in bed and already lying down (ie so no chance of me collapsing with the stress of his upcoming revelation) I told him to continue. “I’ve had a car crash Mum”. After quickly establishing that he wasn’t injured and that I wasn’t cross about the damage to his car, it turns out he made a mistake at a roundabout. Of course in his eyes it was a mistake by the driver of the car in front of him, but I doubt he will be so keen to boast about his prowess with a steering wheel for a few weeks yet!

BANGERS  - this is my only nod to Halloween – my years of hollowing out pumpkins are well and truly over. However, I am going to knock this fab little recipe out next week. Sausage & pumpkin roast is easy to make in half an hour, looks totally scrummy for a cold wintery supper, and has inexpensive ingredients – so ticks all the culinary boxes for me.
