We three Countrywives met today for lunch and we are feeling a bit perky and chuffed with ourselves because we have become confident surfers of the web, rather than the sea, we now understand how to plug in our Plugins, that an URL is an acronym for Unrelated Resource Locator i.e. the address of a web page! We can blog, Skype, twitter, Facebook chat and podcast which ain’t half bad for three mid-life girls! Up until recently we thought an Avatar was one of those blue people but we have moved onto the world of icons now and even understand what it is to embed a code, can’t do it but we understand that it is nothing to do with sex just another term that regularly gets used at the monthly CW lunches.
Podcasting suits us as we love to chatter and now you can’t stop us….give us a subject and you can guarantee that we will have an opinion albeit it uninformed, but who cares it always ends up with us laughing. Our podcasts will be going up once a week, on a Sunday, and they cover subjects such as our love of the Queen whilst not so enthusiastic about the upcoming Jubilee street parties; how we can call our children ‘prats’ but if a teacher does we are fuuuurious!!; how we are addicted to our Smart phones and laptops and have become like our teenagers and are always looking to see who has communicated with us……we live in hope that Damian Lewis might reply to our tweet!
We are currently re-designing our website, having moved to WordPress, but we have called in the experts for this one, though at least we can now understand what they are talking about whereas before it was just like Japanese to us! We will be up and running by the end of May, faster than Usain Bolt’s legs can carry him. We did discuss Usain’s attributes on one of our podcasts, it came about when one of us asked if we were looking forward to the Olympics but I think Ellie (Quuen of pods and plugs) may have to delete that one as immediately the mention was made of Usain Bolt and lycra as the only possible attraction of the games……well you can imagine where that took us, so much laughter and not much podcasting that would be acceptable! Thank goodness there is no censorship certification for blogs otherwise ours might just be for Mid-Life girls only!!
Love Annabel xx

I luuuuurve uninformed opinions and have many myself – the fact that they can be used as podcast fodder is just brilliant too – I often engage in a little light research, nothing too engaging or difficult, just a poll here and a question there you understand.
