Image via WikipediaI was woken this morning at 6.45 a.m. by a phone call from eldest daughter in Qatar telling me how excited she was to be coming home tomorrow. Meanwhile I am still having a nightmare with Royal Mail who have not delivered her dress for the wedding on Saturday. Their excuse now is that I have not paid the custom charges even though I have had an email from them confirming that I have – aargh!! This morning I spoke to James in the Tonbridge RM office, my call had been diverted from Reading who are apparently so busy (personally I think they are screening my calls as they see me as the demented Henley lady who is making threats of death and destruction to all who work at the Reading depot). Today I tried charm and courtesy to win James over but, once again, he said he would get back to me which means get this woman off the phone so that I can get on with my pile of work thus ignoring all her pleas for her parcel. I await his return call!! Meanwhile Husband is planning a covert operation for tomorrow to drive to the Reading depot, which is nowhere near Reading, and to demand the parcel or he will chain himself to their doors in an attempt to get this sorted out.
Wahoo – James from Tonbridge Royal Mail has just called and if I pay the custom charges for a second time, and then get make a claim back, the parcel will be delivered tomorrow and I do believe him strangely so I love James and all who work with him and the Royal Mail delivery man can expect a big hug when he appears tomorrow. Small hiccup as James could not transfer my call as he had called me (??) so I had to re-dial and go to option 5, then 2, then say yes, then 3 and then give all my card details to a computer voice. This means that, once successful and the voice said my parcel would be delivered tomorrow, I have not been able to call James back and declare my undying love for him which is probably a relief for him. However if any of our readers know a James in Tonbridge, working for Royal Mail please give him a kiss from me!I now feel more able to be festive as Cinderella can go to the ball!! And this is my festive contribution to the blog……..

Oh my goodness, what a relief! And yay for James!
