I read Grace’s blog and I also got a promotional letter from my all time favourite, Jo Malone perfumier, telling me that they had introduced to their extensive range aRed Roses scented candlewhich, with their red roses body lotion or cologne, would make an excellent Valentines day present from my darling other half of 24 years! I slipped him the card which offered him a free arm and hand massage when he makes a purchase but even though there is hope, as he has gone to London today, I notice that said card is being used as a bookmark so he needs more of an arm twist than a massage! Having said that he never lets me down in the romance department and whilst he may be no Brad Pitt externally he has the biggest and most loving heart in the land.
I think love is a bit of a roller coaster and all relationships have their ups and downs and consequently the downs make the ups all the more exciting. Like Grace we have settled into the comfortable stage where we are in sync, enjoying all the same things and most importantly managing to laugh at most of them.
My daughters keep me on my toes in the love department as they produce endless yummy boyfriends, the current two topping the list, and my eldest son has a turbulent love life mostly because he chooses girls from foreign shores and love doesn’t work so well long distance! So I am endlessly being called for advice or a shoulder to cry on. I am sure youngest son is also about to enter into the dating game so I think four from this family out there looking for that perfect love is enough and for me I found it 24 years ago.
Happy Valentines Day to all our readers………..
