Annabel is off to a stumbling start….

So today my big Christmas cooking plan kicked in but I had a few hiccoughs……
1. Girls arrived home with boyfriends and
2. Because of snow we were housebound – plenty of time to do their 5 loads of washing and endless feeding!
3. Had pre-booked a delivery from Tesco and this was the big shop so that I only had the vegetables to buy later in the week HOWEVER Tesco called at 8 a.m. to say they couldn’t deliver due to weather, and I had to call another number to re-arrange a delivery slot. Phoned number but was informed that it was a minimum wait of 20 minutes. Persevered and now have new slot tomorrow afternoon but don’t hold much hope.
4. Meanwhile drove into town to see friend who was poorly and a MAN in a BMW drove into the side of my car……….his brakes did not work; he should have realised that without 4 wheel drive he was a liability though it took some time to persuade him that he was to blame since he felt that as I was a woman it had to be my fault….Huh, I was not impressed with this chauvinistic attitude and luckily had husband on board who sorted it (he does have his uses). So now have wing of car in dire state and am meant to be driving to France on 28th.
5. Aga fan has given up and the new fan is stuck in the snow somewhere which seems to be the reason for all lost deliveries.
6. Lights in spare room bathroom gone on the blink. N.B. Sister & partner, with new-born, staying in there for Xmas.
7. Son’s loo continually flushing………..

So onto Monday’s re-plan:
Car repair man arriving at 9 a.m.
Plumber will be here before Thursday, weather permitting.
Electrician ditto.
Aga man is on the case or maybe the chase to locate missing fan.
Not worried as am watching the weather forecast and it is unlikely any of my 17 members of family will make it for Christmas as more snow is predicted and trip to France will be off too, though at least I won’t have to spend 24 hours in an airport only to get bumped and youngest son will just have to wear his new ski-suit walking the dogs!
