Exams. The stuff of nightmares. By that I mean for the parents. “Have you done your revision?” “Shouldn’t you be doing a practice paper rather than playing on your PS3/fiddling with your iPhone, iPod, iPad, checking iPlayer/Facebook/email/You Tube?” “How can we make you realise how important passing your GSCE Maths and English is?”
My Son and his friends either seem to sail through exams with straight A’s or straight U’s. Of course, as a teenager, one rarely fully realises just how important being at school/college is. Social networking, pimples, hair gel and sporting the right logo on your clothes are also fighting for their limited attention spans.
My Son seemed completely unaware of the 19 August. In fact he was fast asleep, peacefully dreaming, when I walked into his bedroom clutching a print out of his AS results. He begrudgingly sat up long enough to hear he had scraped through with an A, B and a C, then quickly retreated back under the duvet for another zizz. Oh well, perhaps he will be an entrepreneur, we’ll have to wait and see. And he does have many, many other redeeming qualities (luckily).

Congratulations!!!Not a U in sight! Ellie xoxoxo
