Went on coastal walk from Zennor to Gurnards Head, with husband with bionic knees, and am completely exhausted. Sun shone, views were out of this world, new bionic knees performed brilliantly however heart, lungs and generally whole body were not up to the challenge………….so does one give up and relax into late life with some gentle gardening and a good surgeon to replace parts when they grind to a halt? Or attempt to return to the fitness levels of Paula Radcliffe (without the emptying of bowels on the pathway) which would probably not be achievable in my case but would give one a healthy glow trying.
Children failed to join us as their shoes were not suitable for rocky terrain of coastal path, however they did the 20 minute walk through the fields to the exceptionally brilliant pub, The Gurnards Headand then consumed copious quantities of delicious food, as did husband and I, however difference being that we will have gained pounds whilst their metabolisms will hardly have batted an eyelid and they will be the same svelte shapes this morning with moving parts all fit and working!

Relax, enjoy life, maybe a slightly shorter one, but don't become a fitness freak – they are very dull people and you sound like a laugh!!
Isn't this the most beautiful walk and the Gurnards Head the best pub food anywhere………Love it! So long as you can still do this walk you are fine!!
